Os MTV Video Music Awards 2025 realizaram-se na noite passada na UBS Arena, em Nova Iorque, numa cerimónia que reuniu algumas das maiores estrelas da indústria musical. Apresentado por LL COOL J, o espetáculo destacou-se pelas atuações vibrantes, pelas homenagens a lendas da música e por uma edição marcada pelo protagonismo feminino.
Lady Gaga foi a grande vencedora da noite, ao arrecadar quatro prémios: Artista do Ano, Melhor Direção de Arte, Melhor Realização e Melhor Colaboração, ao lado de Bruno Mars, pelo tema “Die With A Smile”. A artista consolidou, assim, o seu estatuto de ícone da pop mundial.
Também Ariana Grande brilhou, conquistando três estatuetas com “brighter days ahead”, nas categorias de Vídeo do Ano, Melhor Pop e Melhor Vídeo Longo. Sabrina Carpenter confirmou o seu crescente impacto na cena musical ao vencer em Melhor Artista Pop, Melhor Álbum (Short n’ Sweet) e Melhores Efeitos Visuais, com o single “Manchild”.
O palco dos VMAs 2025 recebeu ainda performances inesquecíveis de nomes como Doechii, Tate McRae, Coldplay, Shakira, LISA, Megan Moroney e Charli XCX, que fizeram vibrar a plateia.
A cerimónia prestou homenagem a ícones da música: Mariah Carey recebeu o Prémio de Vanguarda em Vídeos, Busta Rhymes foi distinguido com o Prémio Visionário, e Ricky Martin subiu ao palco para receber o título de Ícone Latino, todos coroados com atuações memoráveis.
